The idea of Jamu came to life in 2014 when a Swedish trio visited Sri Lanka and Gurubebila for the second time and got to know the locals and fell in love with the little village.
Robin, Ted and Linus made a simple drawing and started the planning. Nobody really knew what to do and where to start. With help from family and friends it slowly came together.
Jamu has grown from five to nine rooms and is in its sixth season this year.

Jamu Surf Lodge is located in Gurubebila between Midigama and Weligama and is a cozy little fishing village with great surf just in front of the house and walk-/bike distance from several renowned surf breaks. It's also only a 5 minute scooter/tuk tuk drive from Weligama Beach.
